In the late 19th century, Fuegians were captured and dragged to Europe to be exhibited as savages in human zoos. Among them was Calafate, a 9-year-old Selk'nam boy who survived and returned to the Strait of Magellan. But many never returned.

Celina was born in a hut of her Kawésqar ethnic group, in the Strait of Magellan. She grew up while relatives and members of her people disappeared. Now she is sailing back, for the first time, to the remote shores where she saw the world.
